Senatorii juristi au amendat marti Codul familiei si au specificat clar ca familia se bazeaza pe casatoria dintre un barbat si o femeie, si nu pe uniunea intre soti, asa cum era pana acum in textul de lege. Initiativa apartine senatorilor PRM, printre semnatari numarandu-se si liderul Corneliu Vadim Tudor, si a fost acceptata in unanimitate de catre membrii Comisiei Juridice.
Modificarea a fost facuta la primul articol al Codului Familiei si, in opinia initiatorilor, nu lasa loc de interpretare: casatoria nu poate fi oficiata intre persoane de acelasi sex. Peremistii au tinut sa se specifice clar “ca familia are la baza uniunea oficiala dintre un barbat si o femeie pentru a nu se incalca Biblia”.
Modificarea facuta la Codul Familiei urmeaza sa fie adoptata in plenul Senatului si apoi sa mearga la Camera spre dezbatere.

Romanian Senators amended on Tuesday the Family Code applied at national level to clearly specify that the family is based entirely upon the marriage of a man and a woman and not upon the reunion of the partners, as stipulated before. The initiative pertains to a senator from the far-right Greater Romania Party (PRM) and was accepted by all members of the Judicial Commission in the Senate.
The amendment referred to the first article of the Family Code and leaves no room for interpretation. The text added refers that the union between a man and a woman respects the Biblical requirements.
The amendment will be approved in the Senate and then be sent to the Chamber of Deputies for approval.
